Unlock Memory Capacity

Without Memory Machine, your DRAM is configured as a cache. With Memory Machine, DRAM and PMem are additive tiers of memory. The result is more memory capacity:

20% more if DRAM:PMem ratio is 4:1
33% more if DRAM:PMem ratio is 2:1
50% more if DRAM:PMem ratio is 1:1

In testing performed by one PMem user, 1,920 gigabytes of memory was set-up with a DRAM to PMem ratio of 4:1.

In one configuration, access to the PMem was provided by Intel Memory Mode firmware. Because Memory Mode sets-up the DRAM as cache, the useable capacity is 1,536 gigabytes.

In the second configuration, access to the PMem was provided by MemVerge Memory Machine software. Because Memory Machine sets-up the DRAM a separate tier, the server can utilize 100% of the 1,920-gigabyte total memory capacity.

Installed = 384GB DRAM + 1,536GB of PMEM = 1,920GB
